Philanthropy in Islamic Society: Teachings, Practical Manifestations and Contemporary Requirements
Abstract
Islam is a religion that bases humanity, tolerance and brotherhood. Islamic society is built on principles that promote compassion, goodwill and mutual respect among human beings. The teachings of the Quran and Sunnah provide not only theoretical principles of philanthropy but also practical models. This paper examines various aspects of philanthropy in Islamic society, and highlights the possibilities and challenges of its implementation in the modern era.
The objectives of this research are to study the principles of philanthropy in the light of the Quran and Sunnah, analyze the manifestations of philanthropy in Islamic history, critically evaluate philanthropic attitudes in Islamic societies in the present era and bring out the role of philanthropic teachings of Islam for social harmony. This research is of a qualitative nature, which includes textual analysis and historical study. The primary sources are the Quran, Hadiths and jurisprudential books, while the secondary sources are based on contemporary articles and social research. In this study, we will try to find out on what ideological and moral basis Islam establishes humanitarianism, what are the practical manifestations of humanitarianism in Islamic history,
