فرقہ واریت کے خاتمہ میں جماعت اسلامی کے کردار کا جائزہ
Abstract
Sectarianism has remained one of the most persistent challenges to Pakistan’s social cohesion, religious harmony, and national integration. In this context, Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan has played a notable role through its ideological framework, organizational discipline, and public initiatives aimed at reducing sectarian polarization. The party’s manifesto emphasizes human dignity, justice, and welfare beyond divisions of sect, language, or ethnicity, thereby promoting an inclusive Islamic political vision. Jamaat-e-Islami has consistently advocated inter-sect dialogue, constitutionalism, and adherence to democratic norms as pathways to national unity. By encouraging its members to respect diverse schools of thought and discouraging takfīr, the party contributes to a culture of tolerance within religious and political spheres. Its participation in joint religious boards, peace committees, and issue-based alliances reflects a practical commitment to mitigating sectarian tensions. Although challenges remain due to broader socio-political dynamics in Pakistan, the party’s efforts illustrate how faith-based political movements can support national harmony without compromising doctrinal principles. This paper examines Jamaat-e-Islami’s contributions to sectarian de-escalation, the philosophical foundations guiding its approach, and the impact of its policies on the wider discourse of unity within Pakistani society.
