Abstract

Grasshoppers and locusts are polyphagous insects. They are regarded as rest of Agricultural crops and grasslands during the present survey various sites of Sindh, Pakistan have been noted to be attacked by this pest beside this it was found that sudden increase in locusts Population made it very difficult situation for the formers and agricultural. Thus they cause loss in the economy of the country by damaging the valuable crops. Locust and grasshopper infestation often warrant intervention with chemical, biological, or cultural methods, but it is also important to understand that these insects are deeply rooted in various societies and our responses can be influenced by cultural perceptions.

The south west Asia and the middle east countries have taken responsibility for monitoring the breeding grounds and applying plague prevention strategy for desert locust control in the outbreak areas and by exchanging desert locust infestation information through FAO. The early the prevention strategy for desert locust control has achieved its original objective of preventing damage to major agricultural zones in invasion area and helps protect the crops of small farmers as well as grazing ground for the live stock.
