Abstract

Salvation is the central issue been discussed a lot among the adherents of world religions. It is said in all codes of conduct that salvation in the hereafter is possible on the base of pure doctrines and noble character. As far as salvation in Christianity is concerned, it has been debated in various approaches by the scholars of Christianity and Islam. Christians claim that the success of a person at the occasion of the day of judgment is possible only if the one believes in the crucifixion of Jesus. According to the four gospels this doctrine requires discussing more as there are many verses in the bible which indicates other ways in this regard. In this article, an attempt has been presented to prove that the contemporary viewpoint of Christians about salvation was not taught by Jesus rather it was the invention and innovation developed by saint Paul after Jesus was no more in this world.
