Abstract

Western Scholars and Orientalists have made various endeavors to dispraise and denounce consecrated Divine message and sanctified institution of prophet hood by using mendacious maneuverings to establish their sinister designs and evil intentions. They set pristine Quranic and Prophetic teachings as targets to discredit and disapprove their sanctity and sacredness. To gain this end, incessant and unending efforts have been put on the part of Western Scholars to prove preservation and compilation of Quranic text as spurious and unauthentic by citing veiled allusion of the incident of Gharaneeq. Of the Orientalists, Robert Spenser and Montgomery Watt are the most conspicuous writers who made many failed coup in their Quran Commentary and books to disgrace and disapprove inviolability of Quran and sacrosanctity of the Holy Prophet (SAW) for the accomplishment of their ominous and inauspicious objectives. In this article, attempt has been made to compare, analyze and criticize their thoughts, opinions and views with authentic, credible and trustworthy Muslim sources. This research paper testifies and establishes validity of the arguments and views   presented in the western world with the justification that these thoughts and opinions are biased and lack of modern critical research approach. Analytical, comparative and critical research methodology has been adopted to reach the logical end of the study.
