Abstract

The Qur'an is the last book revealed by Allah, which was revealed to the pure heart of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad ﷺ through Jibril Amin (A.S). It is written in the form of Mushafs and has consistently reached us in which there is no room for any doubt, and it contains guidance and guidance for human beings till the Day of Judgment. Just as this ummah conveyed this Quran to its successors in the same way, its various recitations and dialects have also been conveyed to the Ummah. And the commentators and jurists have conveyed the divine message to the ummah by interpreting its verses. How different recitations and accents of the Qur'an affect its meaning and significance and how the meanings change completely? As from verse of Surah Al-Maidah narrates: ((وَامْسَحُوا بِرُءُوسِكُمْ وَأَرْجُلَكُمْ إِلَى الْكَعْبَيْنِ))[i] The rules of jurisprudence change radically with the recitation of Nasab and Jar in أَرْجُلَكُمْ or from verse of Surah Al-Fajr: ((الَّتِي لَمْ يُخْلَقْ مِثْلُهَا فِي الْبِلَادِ)) [ii]As read مثلھم instead of مثلھا the meaning changes completely. This article will try to explain how different recitations of the Qur'an affect the interpretation and rules of jurisprudence.
